Newsletter: Long Island Shabbaton Experiences
The Long Island shabbaton was definitely an experience to remember! I made so many friends and so many memories. I loved getting to reunite with old friends and make tons of new friends. One of my best friend’s Abbey, was a big planner for this. She and Josh Pinto did an amazing job! I can’t thank them and long beach enough for hosting this beautiful trip. I truly hope they do this trip again. I had a wonderful host’s house at the Pintos. I learned so much and even got to give my brother and Aaliyah! I took on a mitzvah of saying Shema twice daily and I’ve been sticking to it!! Thank you everyone!!

Hello, my name is Nani and I went on the Long Beach shabbaton. This shabbaton was a shabbis filled with growth, friendship, and memories for life. I had a blast with all the activities from fast friends and teen talks, to intense spot it game 😂 to meeting kids from all over Long Island coming together to learn about ourselves and our religion. Every moment was amazing but I’d say my highlights were ken sharing his story and havdalah. Havdalah was filled with dancing and singing and was so special. Thank you to everyone who helped and making this was a Shabbat to remember 🙌

This past weekend, I got to experience a Shabbaton of a lifetime. The Long Island Shabbaton was so well done, it was truly for teens, by teens, and run by teens. All of the teens were from various areas in New York, specifically Long Island. The atmosphere was very welcoming and we all spent Shabbat in Long Beach. I enjoyed walking on the boardwalk, having Friday night dinner with my friends, and going to shul. The Teen Talks were definitely one of my favorite parts throughout the Shabbaton, everyone who spoke was so eloquent amd inspiring. All of the stories were wonderful to hear and I learned a lot. Most importantly, it was beautiful to connect together and embrace our Judaism. I look forward to another Long Island Shabbaton in the future and a huge shoutout goes to Chabad of the Beaches!!
